Is it okay to have chocolate truffles for breakfast? It is on National Truffle day!

I know, you’re thinking, “Annette, I’m so glad I don’t have to celebrate rare, expensive fungi that grow in Southern Europe.” Guess what? We celebrate both today because that’s where chocolate truffles got their name!
The first chocolate truffles were ganache rolled in cocoa and they resembled the black truffles. Another fun fact, “ganache” is an older derogatory term for fool. (i.e. I’m a ganache for eating so many chocolate truffles.)

I leave you with a warning. Don’t eat so many truffles today that you get a bellyache. Everything in moderation, folks.
