As a songwriter and lover of stories in general, I was super excited to catch the interview with Michael Hearst on a recent episode of NPR’s Music Interviews.

Michael wrote an album called “Songs for Extraordinary People”. All the songs are about people who lived lives that make great stories. What a fun way to learn about incredible people throughout history!?

Some of the folks I had heard of before, but most were brand new to me. I especially loved hearing about Jeanne de Clisson, a French pirate. Mostly because I am currently working on a story with another famous female pirate in history, Grace O’Malley.
